Little Learners of the Pacific Northwest is a home-based establishment, meaning that this daycare business is also a family home.
Our mission at Little Learners of the Pacific Northwest is to provide a safe learning environment that meets the needs of each individual child and family while creating an atmosphere that is ripe with the opportunity for learning. We believe that natural play creates the best opportunity for teachable moments that can be both academic and personal. We believe that children grow and develop differently and at their own pace with many different strengths and talents.
Because of our small learning environment, we are able to give the children in our care both the space to discover independently and the attention they need to understand the world around them. Our play-based curriculum teaches social-emotional skills during times of self-directed free play, guided play, group play, and outside play. Each day your child will have access to the variety of activities that the playroom has to offer, as well as the planned activities designed to focus on a specific skill or set of skills (for example: using playdoh to develop fine motor skills in toddlers).
As a trained reading specialist, my goal is also to create a program that is primed for literacy. You will see evidence of some of the best research-based practices for building literacy put into place around this establishment. Each day your child will have access to books and guided activities designed to build rich vocabularies and lifelong learners.
